Hello This Is My Husky Teyla,
She is perhaps the funniest Dogs I have ever owned. I thought it would be fun to share her hi-jinks with all of you so I hope you enjoy!

I got Teyla as a gift from my parents after my boy Maximus ( a five year old Mastiff) died of cancer.  She has really raised my spirits and has brought joy to my life after the tragic and unexpected loss.

She has a very different personality as compared to my late Mastiff Max. It has taken some getting use to. She is a high spirited stubborn little dog at times but has a heart of gold. I discovered shortly after I got her in Feb of this year, that she may have a doggy drug problem, She likes to get into pills of all sorts.  She got into some of my moms Herbal energy pills, popped them out of there foil cocoons and ate every one of them leaving the foil covered plastic cards intacted.  After contacting my vet and treating her at home with Hydrogen Peroxide I thought that after what she just went through she would not try that again, But I was wrong. Just about a week later she got into my older dogs pain medication and ate 1500 mgs which was all that was in the bottle. She did not eat the plastic bottle at all she just went for the pills! this time it was too late to just give her the at home treatment I had to hurry her to the emergency vet and she was hospitalised for 72 hours.  This time I thought for sure she would not eat any more pills, I had taken all of the pill bottles and boxes of medication and put them up high in cabinets and reminded everyone in the house to please put up there meds and the meds of the other dogs, this will never happen again I told myself.  A few months latter ( this now being Oct.) I returned from the store and found to my surprise little cranberry pills lay scattered on the floor. I picked them up and counted them as to be sure that I had caught her before She had time to eat any, But no there were 200 pills missing. I get on the phone to the vets office who's receptionist now knows me by my voice and tells me to go ahead and treat her at home and then bring her in latter that day. Luckily I had already scheduled an appt. for her earlier that week for shots.
So I brought her in with my older dog  Briendel to get there shots and Having only been there for about ten min My older dog Briendel Lay down, had a stroke and died. My goodness.  I am so glad we where at the vet where she was in good and trusted hands when she went. She was 10 and a half years old  which is a very long life for a mastiff.   Every thing turned out to be ok with Teyla And she has not eaten any more pills as of date, Knock on wood.    Well this has been a very trying year with animals  but I love them dearly and would not change a thing.

Halloween is coming up And I cant wait. I made Teyla a tanktop with a skull and Cross bones painted on it With a little pink bow on top. And we got her a little pirate hat to wear. Everyone in the house Will be dressing up as Pirates this year to go with the Pirate graveyard. It should be fun And I will post pics! So untill then,

Good Bye!
